Virginia Minnesota
Synopsis: "During a fantastical 24-hour road trip, two young women attempt to move past a childhood tragedy that tore them apart."

Edit summary: Remove the weird forest drug-trip scene and a handful of lesbian references.
Altered Carbon
Synopsis: "In a future where humans can transfer their minds from body to body, a rebel is brought back to life to solve a twisted, high-stakes murder case."

Edit summary: Keep season 1 unedited, cut the rest.
Impulse
Synopsis: "16-year-old Henry Coles is an outsider in her new town of Reston, New York. With a major chip on her shoulder and no friends, she remains withdrawn and isolated, but everything changes when a traumatic encounter with a classmate triggers something deep within Henry - unleashing a power she cannot control."

Edit summary: Removed the teen-focused sections, the religious cult, and a lot of the awkward cringy nerd sidekick character, focusing more on the relationship between Henrietta and Nikolai.
Killing Eve
Synopsis: "Eve - a bored MI5 analyst - and Villanelle - a talented, mercurial assassin - go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse."

Edit summary: Completely remove the stabbing subplot. Cut the terribly useless Season 3 & 4 and consolidate the previous seasons - stripping out Eve's husband side plot in Season 1 and fixing her poorly written lesbian obsession in Season 2 so it's conveyed in a less ham-fisted way.
Sweetbitter
Synopsis: "A new life awaits 22-year-old Tess when she arrives friendless in New York City and lacking any specific ambitions beyond finding a job. Her charm and observational nature lead to an invitation to train at one of the city's best restaurants."

Edit summary: Removes most/all the romance side-plots, and most of the side plots that revolve around single characters outside the restaurant. This isn't a very structured overarching plot - it's just a good vibes slice of life story about a girl working her way up at a restaurant.
The Grinch
Synopsis: "The Grinch and his loyal dog, Max, live a solitary existence inside a cave on Mount Crumpet. His main source of aggravation comes during Christmastime when his neighbors in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realizes there is only one way to gain peace and quiet - steal Christmas."

Edit summary: Removed the "realistic" extra plots (Grinch as teased orphan, Cindy Lou's single mother) inserted in this remake, bringing it back in line with the original animation.
Anna and the Apocalypse
Synopsis: "A zombie apocalypse threatens the sleepy town of Little Haven - at Christmas - forcing Anna and her friends to fight, slash and sing their way to survival, facing the undead in a desperate race to reach their loved ones."

Edit summary: Chop down the hyperactive Steph North scenes and remove the lesbian references.
Columbus
Synopsis: "When a renowned architecture scholar falls suddenly ill during a speaking tour, his son Jin finds himself stranded in Columbus, Indiana, a small Midwestern city celebrated for its many significant modernist buildings. Jin strikes up a friendship with Casey, a young architecture enthusiast who works at the local library."

Edit summary: I have a lot of respect for this director, he did an amazing job weaving a light story into some beautiful imagery. Really excellent the way he juxtaposed the actors with the architecture.

This edit just tightens up the story slightly, toning down some of the side characters to keep the focus on the Jin and Casey story. It makes the pace slightly less sluggish but does not make it a fast movie by any means, the contemplative vibe is left fully intact along with some long periods of silence, it just isn't quite as extreme as in the original.
In Search of Fellini
Synopsis: "A shy small-town Ohio girl who loves movies but dislikes reality, discovers the delightfully bizarre films of Federico Fellini, and sets off on a strange, beautiful journey across Italy to find him."

Edit summary: Recut and rearranged into a short film - the original attempts to be a full-on Fellini film, and the edit is more of a linear story with hints and overtones of Fellini throughout.

Ver2: Removed the wall break at the end to change the meaning a bit and keep it fully in the present.
Riviera
Synopsis: "A drama set in the glamorous southeast of France. An extremely wealthy banker and his wife, Georgina, lead a luxurious lifestyle. But Georgina's world is turned upside down when he's killed and she begins to discover the details of his secret life."

Edit summary: Cut a few unsatisfying red herrings and trimmed out a bunch of drama with the side characters to give it a smooth plot arc with less manufactured drama and a chill vibe. Dropped the last season and part of the second season to rework the ending, and rescaled the second season to match the aspect ratio of the first season.
Wind River
Synopsis: "A wildlife officer, who is haunted by a tragedy that happened because of him, teams up with an FBI agent in solving a murder of a young woman on a Wyoming Native American reservation and hopes to get redemption from his past regrets."

Edit summary: Kept the laid-back pace of the main story intact, but trimmed some of the main character family life, and some of the flashbacks to focus on the core narrative without interruption. Some scenes are recut and rearranged for better impact.
Berlin Station
Synopsis: "Transitioning from his job as a CIA analyst in the U.S., Daniel Miller's new mission puts him under cover at the agency's Berlin branch, tasked with sorting out messy cases involving damaging leaks, whistle-blowers, terrorism and more."

Edit summary: Cut the crossdressing subplot, gay informant subplot, and a bunch of irrelevant filler scenes. Drop season 2 and 3 to create a tight, complete spy story.
Criminal
Synopsis: "CIA agent Bill Pope (Ryan Reynolds) dies while traveling to a secret location to meet a hacker who can launch missiles at will. Desperate to find his whereabouts, officials turn to an experimental neurosurgeon who can transfer memories from one brain to another. The guinea pig for the procedure is Jerico Stewart (Kevin Costner), a violent and dangerous death-row inmate. Now gifted with Pope's skills and knowledge, Stewart must race against time to stop a sinister international conspiracy."

Edit summary: Re-cut some bad dialogue at the climax of the movie, and remove a few other minor scenes that interrupt the flow.
Split
Synopsis: "Three girls are kidnapped by a man with a diagnosed 23 distinct personalities. They must try to escape before the apparent emergence of a frightful new 24th."

Edit summary: This recuts the film to be more of a fluid horror film, removing a bunch of the early psychologist interviews with James McAvoy and also trimming out part of Anya Taylor-Joy's backstory. A few of the hunting backstory scenes are left in to add more depth for her character and tension in the back half of the film, and also to add a few bits of lightness to offset the dark atmosphere.
Westworld
Synopsis: "Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, explore a world in which every human appetite can be indulged without consequence."

Edit summary: Adjusts the opening to give a truer sense of the show, rather than starting out as a western for most of the first episode. Makes the storylines, especially in the second season, less fragmented. Reduces the emphasis on Dolores and puts her on equal footing with Maeve and other main characters. Removes most of the third season with the GTA plot and uses select scenes with Maeve and Dolores to wrap up the story, changing the ending substantially.
