Edit summary: Remove the affair and recut the ending to refocus it into a feel good film that focuses on the relationship between De Niro and Hathaway.

Synopsis: "A prequel to the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel 'Treasure Island,' 'Black Sails' is a pirate adventure that centers on the tales of Captain Flint, who has a reputation throughout the West Indies as being the most brilliant, most feared of all the Golden Age pirates."

Edit summary: Cut the gay and lesbian pirate relationships, Silver's slave girlfriend, and any other soap opera side plots and relationships that slowed down the main pirate plot. Specifically targeted Max scenes as well to make her terrible accent more tolerable by limiting her screen time.

Synopsis: "A teenager arrives in a glade at the center of a giant labyrinth. Like the other youths dumped there before him, he has no memory of his previous life."

Edit summary: This cuts the series into one film. Some action sequences are removed to make the action seem like less of a filler quota and focus more on the events that actually matter. Much of the first film plot is left intact but heavily trimmed, the second and third films are severely cut to make the narrative exciting but cohesive, with a flow that seems more naturally written and less cliche.

Synopsis: "A burglar falls for an heiress as she dies in his arms. When he learns that he has the gift of reincarnation, he sets out to save her."

Edit summary: Cut most of Will Smith's role, toned down the fantasy side slightly, and trimmed/refocused the start of the film to seem less scattered. Removed the majority of the voiceovers.

Synopsis: "After a highly unusual zombie saves a still-living girl from an attack, the two form a relationship that sets in motion events that might transform the entire lifeless world."

Edit summary: Fix a couple continuity errors, and strip out a couple corny action sequences and stereotypical tropes.

Even though the edit is small in terms of minutes cut, it does make a huge difference to the vibe and flow of the film. Cutting the shoehorned action unfortunately removes most of the tension, and rearranging the scenes in a more logical way makes it seem like a much simpler story since it isn't being interrupted.

I like the unique story, but it does feel a bit too quick and light in places that should matter - like the end of three days, and the final bonies fight. They should have beefed up those moments rather than shoehorning in the unnecessary moments cut by this edit.

Synopsis: "A newlywed couple cancels their honeymoon and returns to the snowy Midwest to make the funeral arrangements for their best man, who died unexpectedly after their ceremony."

Edit summary: Stripped out some of the newlywed stuff and changed the order of the scenes around to focus it more on Addison Timlin's character.
