Edit summary: This makes some very large cuts, trying to tone down or add context to some of the more dramatic parts of the series, and removing some of the soap opera level drama. It gets rid of both Lee and Jamie - and any plots related to those characters and makes Jimmy less of a comic relief character, also removing most of his later season scenes to keep focus on the Dutton family.

A lot of the mob-type violence - the train station, the yellowstone brandings are removed, but some of the more raw gunfights are kept and reworked into a darker narrative. This also streamlines the multi-season fight over land into one plot arc, to keep the story moving to new places rather than revisiting the same one multiple times.

You could call this edit An Ode to Cowboys, since the focus is really the ranch, and the people on it, rather than the various political machinations and personal infighting the original series featured heavily.
